Charles Woodson’s Motivational Speech Key Raiders Victory

“Our fans showed out, tremendous showing tonight”, Del Rio said following the game.

Most people still call him Eric, though some jokingly bow to him as “Lord Vader”. “I wanted to do something of my own”, he said. While he said actually changing his name wasn’t as hard as he thought it would be, he did battle a few rebels.

Neither offense was very good for the majority of the game, but there were sparks of solid play here and there, beginning with Donald Brown’s 1-yard TD run in the first quarter.

Twenty civilians killed in battle between Afghan forces and Taliban
Fierce fighting has frequently happened in the last two years, between Afghanistan government troops and the Taliban fighters. The UK deployed additional forces to aid Afghan forces on Sangin . “We are still fighting to push back the Taliban “.

“It’s been the story of the year, just losing close games”, Rivers said.

He urged rebels to be “one cohesive rank” in the fight against the regime, stressing his group’s “moderate approach”. Opposition leader says Zahran Alloush’s death could be start of more targeted assassinations by Assad government.

Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 31-yard field goal in overtime and the Raiders got a defensive stop to seal what might have been the final game in Oakland with a 23-20 victory over the San Diego Chargers on Thursday night.

Woodson, 39, announced earlier this week that he would be retiring at the end of the season and his last appearance at the O.co Coliseum on Christmas Eve was a fitting finale.

“It’s been a joy for me to come back and play here for a second time around”, Woodson told the crowd. Though this is my last game in the Coliseum, just know that I’ll never leave you. And, while the play didn’t work out, coaches designed a run/pass option used to no avail during overtime.

San Diego had the 17-12 lead and the ball at Oakland’s 20-yard line when a third-down pass fell incomplete.

At that point, the Raiders gave Woodson the well-rumored shot on offense. “I got one game left, I can’t leave with negative-3 yards”. “Charles is one of the greatest players to ever put on the uniform”.

Still, San Diego’s defense held firm and forced an Oakland punt.

The defense delivered throughout another night in which the Raiders offense struggled. On his first catch of the year, tight end David Johnson had the ball knocked loose and the Raiders recovered, returning it 41 yards to San Diego’s three-yard line.

Carr shook off a bad night to throw a dime, a 3-yard pass to Crabtree perfectly placed over the defender. He also threw to Roberts for the two-point conversion, and suddenly the Raiders owned a 20-17 lead with 4:42 to play. Given a free first down, Philip Rivers found Ladarius Green for a 30-yard touchdown on the next play. The Raiders went for two, and Carr converted with a pass to Roberts, extending Oakland’s lead to 20-17. Carr completed all five of his passes for 58 yards on the drive, while Murray carried three times for 33 yards.

That was big after Carr’s first pass of the night was an interception, his 12th of the season, with 10 coming at home.

Raiders coach Jack Del Rio is hopeful that the effort against San Diego, although unsightly at times, will become part of the team’s personality every week.

As for the Chargers (4-11 overall, 0-5 AFC West), if they lose next week to the Denver Broncos on the road it will mark the first time since 1973 that the Chargers went a whole season without winning a game in the AFC West.

It didn’t start so inspiring for the Raiders. Latavius Murray capped it off with a 22-yard touchdown run. Three straight penalties left the Raiders with a second-and-29 but San Diego’s Denzel Perryman bailed them out when he was called for a personal foul for hitting a defenseless Michael Crabtree in the head.
