Titans QB Marcus Mariota Out For Next Week’s Game
Interim head coach Mike Mularkey said it would be “a farce” if Walker doesn’t make it to the Pro Bowl this season.

Mariota suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee during Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots and has already been ruled out of this week. For a player who feels like he can be a starting-caliber National Football League quarterback, he has games against two formidable opponents – Houston and Indianapolis – to close out the season.
Mariota has 2,818 passing yards, 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, with a passer rating of 91.5. “The training staff felt if I wasn’t 100 percent it wouldn’t be good for me to go”. He left the game in the second quarter after running back Antonio Andrews failed to block linebacker Jamie Collins. We’d still be surprised to see Mariota again in 2015.
Missing the final two games likely would put him out of the running for offensive rookie of the year, with Buccaneerss quarterback Jameis Winston, Raiders receiver Amari Cooper and Rams running back Todd Gurley all having stellar campaigns. It was an A-plus of a rookie year. In Sunday’s win over the Titans the Patriots leading rusher was practice squad undrafted rookie call-up Joey Iosefa, who tallied 51 yards on 14 carries. He has thrown three touchdowns and five interceptions. He was 3-6 for 33 yards before leaving the game due to his knee injury.
Moving to 12-2 on the season, the New England Patriots walked away with another victory this week. However, Mularkey stated during the press conference that Mariota would not play against the Texans, but then be reevaluated for the next and last regular season game. “He got his opportunity this year when Dion went out, and he’s done a great job”. “But we’re in the process of putting the game plan together right now”. Amendola has been dealing with the injury for more than a month, though he’s missed just one game prior to failing to finish Sunday’s contest….
“We definitely had some (communication issues)”, Mularkey said.
Defensive coordinator Matt Patricia came up with some schemes that allowed New England to get pressure on the quarterback without blitzing very often.

He insisted Mariota would benefit from playing in the season finale, if he’s healthy.
