If you use Sprint or Verizon, you could have some money coming your way, but you’ll have to act fast. Bear in mind that the Visa prepaid card to cover the early termination fees will be mailed within 8 weeks of the claim being received.
According to documentation, Verizon was charging its customers for third-party messages up until at least January of 2014, forcing their subscribers to pay an average of around $9.99 a month. Frequently, the charges occurred after consumers entered their mobile phone numbers online. Some merchants tricked consumers into providing their numbers to get “free” digital content only to be charged for it, the bureau said.
If you have unauthorized charges on your bills, both Sprint and Verizon have settlement websites where you can request a full refund.
Verizon and Sprint may owe customers a late Christmas present in the form of a cash refund but if you want to get that present you have to move fast.
Sprint customers can submit their claims at www.SprintRefundPSMS.com.
You may be entitled to a refund for unauthorized and previously unrefunded Premium SMS charges incurred since July 1, 2010.

Verizon and Sprint have previously said they stopped the cramming practice long before the government began its investigations. These settlements follow similar settlements reached with AT&T and T Mobile a year ago.
