Booking for two-goal Costa means he misses Chelsea trip
Guus Hiddink said: ‘When we have a midfield with all creative players it’s lovely but sometimes you need a balance and I thought John Obi gave us that balance.

Despite a brace from Diego Costa, Chelsea could not beat the promoted side Watford as the Boxing Day game ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw after Oscar missed a penalty ten minutes remaining in the game.
“We have to cope with that but we will be ready I am sure”.
Costa was booed last weekend by some groups of Chelsea fans, unhappy with his displays in the matches leading up to Mourinho’s sacking.
“His reaction was good, when he was booed he had a very good reaction as a professional”, Hiddink told reporters. “And he showed how he will go on today”.
Hiddink, who will manage the club until the end of the season, had his players limbering up on the streets in central Manchester on Monday morning.
The Blues opened the scoring midway through the first half when Diego Costa was on hand to volley home from close range following a 31st minute corner.
Watford were gifted a way back into the game before half-time when Nemanja Matic needlessly handled in the box and Troy Deeney dispatched the penalty.
Odion Ighalo was allowed to turn and run at goal by Gary Cahill in the 56th minute, and his left-footed shot deflected off the defender and looped beyond Courtois.
“He focused himself on what he is good at and not wasting extra energy where he shouldn’t waste it”, added Hiddink.
As the game wore on, Chelsea looked far the likelier to win as Watford tried to shut up shop but they were given another scare here from which they only had some of the firepower to recover – it should make them mindful that Mourinho was but the most visible of the problems at Stamford Bridge.
He did recognise that Chelsea “had opportunities to score a third goal and win the game” but said that his team-mate’s miss was “unlucky” and that “these things happen”.

Watford head coach Quique Sanchez Flores believes Chelsea coming from behind to earn a point against his side was borne out of a desire to impress Guus Hiddink. Chelsea have played badly all season, individually and collectively, and that will not be fixed overnight. It’s up to the team to show they must take the initiative to get the crowd back.
