NBA suspends Matt Barnes 2 games for fight with Knicks coach
According to Barnes, he was exchanging text messages and using FaceTime with his six-year-old twin sons, who were at the residence with Fisher and Govan, and he could tell they were a bit uncomfortable so he decided to make the 15-minute drive to the residence to check things out.

“I can’t believe people think I was some maniac driving 95 miles and listening to Tupac to go beat somebody up”, Barnes said, per Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.com.
Barnes refuted those reports, saying he lives a much shorter distance from the house and that he was just “going over to check on my kids because they seemed uncomfortable”.
Barnes admitted the situation escalated when he arrived. Police were called, though no charges were filed.
The two players were teammates from 2010 to 2012 with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Barnes is averaging 8.6 points and 5.0 rebounds in 33 games this season with the Grizzlies. It’s unclear whether Barnes plans to appeal the reported suspension.

Barnes, who now plays for the Memphis Grizzlies, will serve the suspension in Tuesday’s game against the Miami Heat and Saturday’s game at the Utah Jazz, according to league officials. Fisher reportedly suffered “a few scratches” in the incident, and missed at least one Knicks practice.
