Yankees acquire Aroldis Chapman from Cincinnati Reds
The proverbial hot stove just got turned up in The Bronx.

The Yankees have acquired closer Aroldis Chapman from the Reds for four minor leaguers.
Cotham is the lone Yankees prospect in the deal to have spent time in the major leagues as he went 1-0 with a 6.52 ERA in 12 relief appearances.
If the Yankees do keep Miller around, that would give them Chapman, Miller, and Dellin Betances in whatever late-inning roles they are needed.

On the other hand, as Jon Morosi reported earlier this month, a lengthy suspension would grant the Yankees another year of team control. Chapman also allegedly fired eight gunshots in his garage following the dispute at his Miami-area home. According to Baseball Reference, the most similar pitches to Chapman through age 27 are Kenley Jansen and Billy Wagner – not bad company. The police report indicates the argument stemmed from something the woman found on Chapman’s cellphone, and she fled from Chapman to hide in the bushes. Chapman has reached four consecutive All-Star games since taking over as the Reds full-time closer.
