Both Texas and Oklahoma have shut down I-40 travel across their states.

New Mexico’s governor declared a State of Emergency on Sunday as residents dealt with the fallout of a crippling snowstorm. “This is a dire situation”, Martinez said.
Chaves County Sheriff Britt Snyder said Monday the area likely received 20 inches of snow and freezing temperatures has kept most of it on roads.
Travel will remain unsafe across most of eastern New Mexico this evening due to strong winds and blowing drifting snow. Snow drifts near Roswell reached as high as 10 feet and winds howled to 60 miles per hour Sunday, which delayed the rescue of some motorists and stalled cleanup efforts a day later. Weather conditions will continue to gradually improve from west to east as the afternoon progresses. Publisher Rob Langrell halted delivery services after Jimmy and Betty Anderson were stranded late Saturday.
The stormy weather is expected to lighten up by Monday morning, according to Albuquerque meteorologist Chris Luckett.
NMDOT has sent plows and heavy equipment from northern New Mexico to help clear icy roads in Roswell and reopen US 285. The eastern portion of the state is under a blizzard warning, and some areas have reportedly experienced up to 21 inches of snowfall.
Police spokesman Fred Duran says hotels along I-40 had to turn people away.

Albuquerque police report driving hazards in some parts of the city due to patches of ice and snow. Some snow packed and icy conditions still exist throughout the state, especially in the southeast region.
