Alphabet Shares Quiet After New Google Glass Photos Appear On FCC Website
A new edition of Google Glass signals a possible new direction for the company’s stalled and stagnant wearable, especially if it winds up in use as a business tool rather than as product for everyday buyers, as blog 9-to-5 Google reports.

Well, Google still hasn’t announced any new Glass, but that didn’t stop the FCC from going ahead and posting images of the unannounced hardware. There’s also a yet-to-be-seen Google-made external battery pack, which attaches to the device magnetically. We also mentioned better heat management which is a result of the new chip, and its improved performance.
The most obvious changes include a larger prism that can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally and a hinge allowing it to fold like a traditional pair of glasses. It supports 5GHz Wi-Fi, unlike its predecessor, and it even comes with a little camera light on the front of the glasses. We also reported that the device is waterproof and closed-off, as to protect it from debris and other substances that may damage the hardware. Google has yet to acknowledge the existence of this device, but images are now up on the FCC’s website. More than one source has said that companies are planning to officially begin adding the device to their offerings starting soon. The bad news is that the Enterprise Edition likely won’t be made available to us regular folk.

In March this year, Google’s Eric Schmidt confirmed that its Google Glass project will make a return in the future, although he remained mum back then as to when it would happen.
