The last week of 2015 will be a rainy one, starting with a snow/rain mix after midnight turning to freezing rain through Tuesday.
Starting around noon on Monday we will see the threat for snow and sleet, but that will quickly turn into freezing rain.
Untreated roads will see icy conditions, and bridges, overpasses and elevated ramps may also be slippery.
Freezing rain and sleet are possible after 1 p.m. today.
The heavy rain will be the tail end of a severe storm now crossing the southern Plains and central Gulf Coast and veering northeast.
Winds are expected to be 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts 40 to 45 miles per hour from late morning through this evening.
Little or no ice accumulation expected. Wednesday will feature clouds and a high temperature of about 43 degrees.

The transition to chillier weather should take place this weekend, when temperatures are expected to plummet into the upper 20s on Friday and Saturday nights.
