About a week ago, HTC began teasing a new and upcoming smartphone succeeding the One A9, and although this bit of detail has not been officially confirmed, it looks like the Taiwanese manufacturer’s next release will be another mid-range smartphone.
The new phone is priced at around Rs 24,000. Unfortunately, the latest news from HTC’s Head of Product Management Mo Versi is a tweet on December 7th, where he said: “Lots of questions on this, so quick update: M9 unlocked Marshmallow OS update and A9 6.0.1 (with updated emoji) is on target for this month”. The first one, which preps the phone to receive Marshmallow, weighs in at 99.47MB and is software version 2.11.617.180.
Google’s new Android Marshmallow, which will be rolling out next week.
Owners with the One M9 can expect lots of small changes.
He also noted that Android 6.0 for the unlocked HTC One M9, which is available in Canada but probably very uncommon, will also be released imminently. The dualSIM phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Sense UI and supports 4G LTE connectivity.
As for the One M9, get ready for Doze, Google Now on Tap, better control over app permissions, and more. The update for One A9 is now being rolled out, so wait for the notification to arrive.
HTC has been on a roll when it comes to software updates, and this is the latest move.
