The Suns lost guard Eric Bledsoe for several weeks to a meniscus injury on Saturday night, and forward Markieff Morris will serve one more game on a suspension for throwing a towel at Hornacek on the team’s bench last week. Head coach Jeff Hornacek managed to keep his job but a couple of assistants were shown the door.
The Phoenix Suns fired assistant coaches Mike Longabardi and Jerry Sichting late Sunday night after meeting with assistant coaches and some players, reports both Yahoo!
Sources told ESPN that Bledsoe might be out until after the All-Star Game on February 14.
Without knowing the results after Sunday’s practice, Suns coach Jeff Hornacek only could start preparing the team for the ultimate challenge of coming off rock bottom with Saturday’s home loss to the 2-30 76ers (minus Jahlil Okafor) and going through a four-day gauntlet against three of the NBA’s top four teams – Cleveland, San Antonio and Oklahoma City.
“Obviously it’s probably a low point for us”, Hornacek said. Watson averaged 6.4 points, 4.4 assists and 1.0 steals for his career, posting highs of 10.7 points and 6.8 assists in 78 games (73 starts) with Seattle in 2007-08.

Hornacek won 48 games as a rookie coach in 2013-14, before the team took a step back last season.
