Klopp waits on Origi scan but Milner still sidelined
After a succession of injury setbacks and short-lived “recoveries”, Daniel Sturridge is now the Liverpool FC version of “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”, and like many jaded Reds fans, LFC boss Jurgen Klopp is singularly unimpressed with Sturridge’s latest proclamation of fitness. I was really pleased with what we did in the first half-hour and then we had to change.

I wrote yesterday that Liverpool would lose against Leicester, and I’m glad to say how wrong I was.
“Otherwise we always have to stay here in this situation for the next 10 years and always talk about, ‘Where is Daniel Sturridge, can you play him?’?”
Klopp said that it is “not possible” for a player like Benteke “to come in and play their own style when the team plays differently” despite stating that “in the end, a striker has to make goals”. It was deserved and I think we played a game we should play against these opponents.
“You ask him and he says he’s good”.
“I spoke with the manager a few days ago about where I can improve and what he is expecting from me”, said Benteke, who has six goals in 18 appearances for the Reds.
“They will go back to their roots – we know what is waiting for us”.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp feels Christian Benteke is ready to realise his potential after holding a frank discussion with the striker. Since I came here he gets better and better.
“We are an honest bunch and we will look at it and react in the right way and there is no better way than to react against Man City”. We have to use his natural skills and he has to try and be more involved in the game.
Having come through the academy at his hometown club, then moving to Liverpool and playing for England, I hope the present young players at Sunderland are at the match and watching him to see what can be achieved with hard work and dedication.
Liverpool have just one fit striker for Wednesday’s trip to Sunderland after Divock Origi injured his hamstring in the 1-0 win over Leicester, leaving the goal-scoring burden on Christian Benteke.

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has told his players they have to enjoy their football and not be restricted by their place at the top of the Barclays Premier League.
