Children carried toy lightsabers to a Protestant church in Berlin and some of the congregation dressed up as Darth Vader on Sunday (Dec. 20) for a service to mark the release of the blockbuster hit new Star Wars movie.
“I wanted to do something of my own”, he said. “I don’t want to give anything away”.
You also probably didn’t know that he’s raising funds online for a bone marrow transplant. Most people still call him Eric, though some jokingly bow to him as “Lord Vader”.
Past year however, he also did something else to strike back, something most would probably never even consider: He legally changed his name to Darth Vader.
But Mexican side CF Pachucha have bucked the trend and paid tribute to the new Star Wars film during an unconventional press conference to announce their latest arrival.
Vader told the D&C that the name change wasn’t hard, but he did have to sign documents promising not to use the Force for evil character’s likeness for his own profit.
He still has to show his ID to prove that his is in fact Darth Vader.
Vader watched “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” Thursday night at Cinemark Tinseltown in Gates and plans to attend a premiere in Toronto on Saturday night. “Got to love Darth Vader”.
‘It doesn’t end, ‘ he said.
