Medium-sized smartphones, like the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S, were by far the most popular Apple product over this holiday period, making up 65 per cent of all new devices activated around Christmas. That more than doubled last year’s share of 13 percent, which was, in turn, over thrice the 4 percent share recorded in the 2013 holiday season. They were followed by the aforementioned phablets and full-size tablets, then by small tablets (9 percent), then small phones (1 percent). It terms of apps, Christmas was once again the biggest day of the year for app downloads.
