Defiant Van Gaal insists he’ll not leave Man Utd
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says he will not resign after his side drew nil all with Chelsea this morning.

We have to wait and see what happens as he (Van Gaal) insisted and with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho rumored to have agreed terms with united as a replacement for van Gaal, we wouldn’t be surprised if he quits as United’s boss before Monday, because the stoke city game seems to be the final straw. I can only work with my players and you have seen that my players are fighting for me and that they have given a good performance.
Manchester United were unlucky not to beat Chelsea despite dominating the game, skipper Wayne Rooney said following the goalless home draw against the struggling champions.
The Red Devils are in their lowest position at this stage of the season in 26 years, but there were enough encouraging signs for Van Gaal to deny he would quit, as he suggested he might after the 2-0 loss at Stoke on Boxing Day.
“Inside the club the players are willing to fight for every metre, the manager is willing to fight, the members of staff are willing to fight and the board is very confident in the staff and their manager”. “Maybe the media wants that but I shall not do that”, added Van Gaal.
The movement was sharper, the tempo was higher, the passing was crisper and more adventurous, and chances came and went.
“We were the dominant team, we created chances, we shot on goal and only gave three chances away”.
Van Gaal said that he was aware poor form could force a club to sack its manager, but he had the backing of the players and would fight on. “We didn’t manage to take one but I thought we played some great stuff”. It was more United’s luck – hitting the woodwork twice, Herrera missing from point blank, a couple of penalty shouts that weren’t given – than poor play that stopped them from winning the game.
“They have to be better than they were here today”. Eden Hazard flitted in and out but his tendency was to roam to wide positions and in the first half Chelsea looked what they have become: a team drifting through the league, too haughty to be afraid of relegation but too far back to think they can still challenge for Europe.
“Starting with Sunderland and Watford (against whom Chelsea drew 2-2) and now, the team knows what to do”.

Chelsea also had chances to score, with David De Gea turning John Terry’s header over the bar, before making an impressive double save from Pedro and Cesar Azpilicueta early in the second half.
