The Internet Thought Disney Infinity Revealed Rey’s Parentage… Until It Didn’t
In its opening weekend, Star Wars: The Force Awakens brought in a staggering $247 million domestically, topping Jurassic World’s previous record of $208.8 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The decision to kill off such a fan-favourite character can’t have been an easy one, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan has now shed some light on how the decision was made as the story evolved. For one, Rey seems to be natural when it comes to flying those machines, which could be a trait she possibly got from Han Solo himself– plus, there were also those instances when the two murmured words in unison. Luke goes from whiny farm-boy to Death Star Destroyer in a matter of days in the original trilogy.

The mistake stemmed from internet personality Angry Joe who uploaded a clip of one of Disney Infinity The Force Awakens’ final battles – it’s Rey versus Kylo Ren who appears to at one point say, “Face me, Cousin!”.
The possessor of that map will know how to find the missing Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker – Mark Hamill’s character – but to say more of that would be a spoiler of the First Order.
Luke dreamed of nothing but leaving his desert home for adventure, while having an aunt and uncle who gave him a pretty sheltered life.
It was one daughter handing out the lightsaber to her father at the end of the film. Yet while Luke leaps at every opportunity, Rey is more cautious and perhaps afraid to take a permanent leap towards something new. When Kylo Ren had in his clutches “the girl” we know as Rey, it was déjà-vu all over again. I don’t think there’s a better candidate for a parody account than Kylo Ren. Is Rey, the film’s hero, a “Mary Sue”?
Finn: could be a relative of Lando or Windu or just a random newbie.
The most knee-jerk (and hilarious) excoriation came from Colorado’s 9News, who dubs Driver’s Kylo Ren “Darth Millennial’ and harps on his performance and spoiledness for most of the review”. If this theory proves to be true, then Rey has just fought with her very own brother in Kylo Ren. We wanted them to be spread all throughout the galaxy. However, Finn doesn’t end as far along as Rey, as his efforts to use a lightsaber are less effective than the trailers indicate. “Leia has sent her most daring pilot on a secret mission to Jakku, where an old ally has discovered a clue to …” I know this sounds stupid, but literally watching it, I forgot – I forgot that he wasn’t his son.
It certainly helps when the villain’s journey does as well.

Another important glimpse to look into is the scene where we see the apparent “Knights of Ren” together with Kylo Ren as they destroy Luke’s new Jedi Academy. And in truth, he is no different from so many who imagine themselves as the cool, strong, frightening and admired/feared Vader rather than the panned and mocked Anakin of the prequels.
