Leicester and Man City fire blanks in goalless draw
Much has been written and said about Leicester City’s heroics this season, and how manager Claudio Ranieri has managed to build on the individual brilliance of the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy to put together an incredible run in the first half of the 2015-2016 season. They will most likely be without Captain Vincent Kompany after he suffered another calf injury during their 4-1 romp over Sunderland.

The 27-year-old Argentine is a striker of undisputed world class but his edge has been blunted by a succession of niggling injuries that have interrupted his season. In addition to the clean sheet, it was the first match in which neither Vardy nor Mahrez scored, and the Algeria global had six goals in his previous three games.
“There’s no doubt about the quality of the players, the character”.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini revealed that the Belgian centre-back faces another lengthy spell on the sidelines after limping off during the 4-1 Boxing Day win against Sunderland.
It was another good atmosphere at the King Power but it was the 2014 champions who started in the ascendancy.
N’Golo Kante, a £5.6m summer signing from French club Caen, has been winning plaudits and he looked a bargain again here.
They beat Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool away, but lose at home to Bournemouth.
Christian Fuchs’ sharp cross was just out of reach for Marc Albrighton at the back post with the net gaping.
Leicester were set up rather more defensively than usual, but finished the match better side.
“We went for the three points and I think that we had more possession than Leicester and more attempts and did more things to win the game”.
“I think it was a good performance for us”, hen added.
But Jamie Vardy had the game’s best chance as Danny Drinkwater capitalised on poor play, dispossessing the Citizens deep in their half before passing to the England forward, who drove his one-on-one effort over the bar. “That’s why I repeat, not happy but not disappointed also because we played well but we couldn’t score”.
“Every match is hard for us”.

Ultimately neither side could find a way through, despite having shared 74 top-flight goals between them this season, and Pellegrini’s charges remain without a win on the road in the Premier League since September. We are a very good team, we proved that at the back end of last season, and this season too, and we are right up there in the mix.
