Gaza govt: Egyptian army killed Palestinian in cold blood
Ishaq Khalil Hassan, 28, was shot dead by Egyptian border guards.

“It’s outrageous and appalling that the terror organization that is keeping a mentally ill person captive instead of returning him home as expected, dares to cry out that “this is a reprehensible act that goes against all humanitarian laws and conventions”, and what’s more, demands prosecuting those responsible”.
Hamas on Saturday lashed out at Egypt after TV footage emerged showing a mentally ill Palestinian man from the Gaza Strip being gunned down as he crosses into Egyptian territory by sea.
Video has spread online purporting to show the man walking in the Mediterranean surf and crossing the posts and fencing marking the border between the Palestinian enclave and Egypt.
Palestinian security officers can be seen shouting at the Egyptian guards in a watch tower to stop them from shooting at Hassan.
The video, taken on Thursday, later shows the man’s body on the shore. According to Palestinian reports, Hassan had a history of mental and emotional illness.
There was no immediate comment from the Egyptian Interior Ministry, Reuters reported.
The ministry condemned the incident, calling it a “cold-blooded execution”.
“Egypt considers Gaza an enemy entity while Israel is a friendly state, which explains why the Egyptians have a policy of shoot-to-kill against Palestinians if they cross the borders illegally or mistakenly”, said Thoalfikar.
