Williams posted the images from his official Twitter account after touring war-stricken camps in Lebanon as a UNICEF ambassador. There is no questioning the fact that he should have added some sort of warning for his unassuming social media followers.

Kurdi’s brother Mohammad, his wife Ghouson Dakouri and their five children touched down Monday at Vancouver International Airport.

Alan Kurdi’s death sparked global outrage over the refugee crisis after images of his body appeared in September after he drowned, along with his five-year-old brother and their mother, while crossing between Turkey and Greece. His youngest son was born in July – he did not meet his newest child until this past weekend in Frankfurt, before leaving for Vancouver. Speaking through his sister, who translated from Arabic, Mohammed Kurdi also thanked Canadians and their government for making his dreams come true.

Mohammad and his family, who were in Turkey for two years after fleeing Syria, will now move into the Kurdi home in Coquitlam.

“To refugees who struggle all over the world, I’m going to tell them: There is always a light at the end of the tunnel”, continued Tima.

Tima Kurdi had a message she wanted to share with other refugees in hard circumstances.

Alan’s father Abdullah Kurdi lives in Iraq’s Kurdistan region and has decided against travelling to Canada.

“Thank you to the Canadian people”, she said.

His teenage son, Shergo, wants to go back to school as soon as possible.

The Kurdi family has arrived. Ottawa said it never received the applications.
