Tennessee HS Basketball Players Charged with Raping, Assaulting Teammate
30, 2015, 20:09 Tennessee highschool basketball players charged with raping, assaulting teammate Three Ooltewah basketball players have been charged with aggravated rape & aggravated assault after a hazing occurrence at a basketball tournament in Gatlinburg.

“We can’t give names because they’re under 18 years of age, and since we’re out of school for the holidays we haven’t met yet to determine how they will be punished at school”, Ooltewah High School Athletic Director Jesse Nayadley told the Times Free Press.
Detective Burnes said a teenager, who goes to Ooltewah High School, was in Gatlinburg with his teammates for a basketball tournament.
She said the oldest charged was 17. She said he initially was taken to LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville by his coach, Andre Montgomery.
The three boys charged in the incident were dismissed from the basketball team and are being held at the Sevier County Juvenile Detention Facility awaiting bond hearings scheduled for today.
According to the Times Free Press, three other members of the team were also hazed at the same time.
The boys, whose names aren’t being released, were removed from the basketball team.
Per David Carroll of WRCB-TV, the freshman victim underwent surgery to treat his injuries and was released from the hospital after an eight-day stay.
A family member of the victim told the Chattanoogan the boy’s colon and bladder were ruptured after his classmates beat and sodomized him with a wooden pool stick.

The boy is expected to physically recover in 2-3 months, but his relative said he is having nightmares and that he thought he would die during the brutal incident.
