Separatist leader Asiya Andrabi dismisses allegations of any IS link
“It is learnt that she may have visited, but there is no confirmation (on it) as such. We are trying to investigate”, said the state’s police chief Anurag Sharma. “We’re not RSS agents”, said Imraan Bhat, who heads “Kashmiriyat”.

“Unless we confirm that, we will not be in a position to say definitely”, he said, addressing an annual press conference.
Police on Tuesday said that the three youths aspired to meet Andrabi, using the name of their late uncle, former chief of Students Islamic Movement of India Syed Salahuddin. Expressing deep grief and sorrow over the death of mother of woman pro-freedom leader and chief of Dukhtaran-e-Millat Sayeeda Asiya Andrabi, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani prayed for peace to the deceased soul. They told the police they were on their way to Srinagar to meet Ms. Andrabi, “who would have facilitated their onward journey to join the IS”. “We should not play a part in these plans of the RSS otherwise on the day of judgement the martyrs will question us before Allah and we will not be able to face the Prophet”, she said. “Once we know something we have to counter it. When we have something concrete definitely (we can proceed further)”.
An event manager, who has organised a musical function on the new years eve in Gulmarg, however said that they will go ahead with the celebrations despite criticism from the Separatist camp. “I think it happened a year ago, but in between, whether they had some communication with her is a matter of investigation”, he added.
The three youths travelled in a vehicle to Nagpur and were nabbed in a joint operation by Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad and Telangana Police when they were about to board a flight to Srinagar on December 26.

However, police foiled their attempt at Kolkata, brought them back to Hyderabad and counselled them in the presence of their parents and let them off.
