Surface Phone: Microsoft confirms it is working on breakthrough Windows mobile
Microsoft’s Surface tablet has already received a lot of popularity, and the company is hoping that the same will be extended to its Surface Phone. The development of such a device isn’t that farfetched as Microsoft introduced Continuum on Windows 10 which allowed users to connect their Lumia 950 to dock and use it like a desktop computer. The internet too, had been abuzz with speculations and rumors regarding the release of this device for quite a long time now.

No specifications are hinted but we took a stab at what the rumored Surface Phone would be like and we think the screen size would touch the 5.5-inch barrier. The company wrote off billions of dollars from its acquisition of smartphone maker Nokia and phones running Microsoft’s Windows operating system have not been huge sellers. For shutterbugs, the Surface Phone could come equipped with a 21-megapixel camera with PureView lens and an 8-megapixel front facing camera for video calling and selfies.
AT&T is the only carrier in the USA that is selling the Lumia 950 flagship from Microsoft. Chris Capossela, the tech giant’s marketing chief, teased at a current project that sounds like a Surface Phone, which is touted to be its answer to the iPhone, according to Gotta Be Mobile.
The popularity of tablets that offer laptop capabilities is likely to continue in 2016, with Google expected to release its Pixel C tablet at some point.

“We need some sort of spiritual equivalent on the phone side, that doesn’t just feel like a phone for people who love Windows”, Capossela says. He said that encouraging users to upgrade to Windows 10 could be challenging as it is impossible to ask everyone to upgrade without “angering” some individuals. Purchasing one costs $650 directly from Microsoft’s website. The recently announced Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950XL haven’t entirely succeeded in arousing the curiosity of the phone buying junta. It costs $550 without a contract or $19.97 a month AT&T’s Next 24 program.
