Dodgers sign LHP Scott Kazmir for three years
Now, it turns to Kazmir, 31, who has a 98-90 career record and continues a career renaissance just three years after he was relegated to pitching for the independent Sugar Land (Texas) Skeeters.

Because he was traded during the season, Kazmir wasn’t eligible to receive a qualifying offer from Houston, meaning the Dodgers won’t have to forfeit a 2016 draft pick.
Terms of the three-year deal were not disclosed by the Dodgers.
“I mean personally, me, very disappointed”, Kazmir said of his half-season with the Astros on September 29, per the Houston Chronicle’s Evan Drellich. CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman reported that the deal is worth $48 million over the three years with a player opt out after the first year.
Over the last three years, Kazmir has averaged 31 starts, 177 innings and 160 strikeouts while putting up a 3.54 ERA and 3.61 FIP.
The interesting thing about the nearly 32-year old signing with the Dodgers is their lefty rotation from top to bottom.
Kazmir posted a 3.10 ERA over 183 innings for the Oakland Athletics and Houston Astros last season, and was the losing pitcher in Game 2 of the AL Division Series for the Astros.
Kazmir figures to slot in behind ace Clayton Kershaw in the Dodgers’ starting rotation, joining fellow left-handers Alex Wood and Brett Anderson, and, perhaps at some point, Hyun-jin Ryu.
