ESPN’s Paul Azinger calls Tiger Woods a ‘hack’ at the British Open

One of the main factors behind Woods’s sharp decline has been his fitness. His detractors, however, aren’t making his choice any easier.

“There you have it, folks”, CBS Sports reported. “Welcome to 2015”.

I’ve learned over the years never to write Woods off completely.

Woods talked about being raging at his play, though he didn’t look at it when chatting with Day while waiting to hit on the 15th tee. It stems from a comment earlier in the week when Woods was asked about retirement. And those were less flattering than the AARP tweet.

“It’s hard to watch the greatest player of this generation be a middle of the pack hack”, Azinger said at one point.

After winning 79 PGA titles, including 14 Major crowns, Tiger Woods is regarded as one of the best players to ever grace a golf course, but as of late, it’s appeared an arduous effort for the 39-year-old to put together a succession of positive rounds. Except Tiger.

Do you think Tiger will win another major?

The 14-time (but not in the last seven years) major champ shot a four-over par 76 in Round 1 of the Open Championship and showed nothing to suggest he was ready to turn things around.

I was convinced that without a shadow of a doubt, Tiger Woods would have destroyed the record books by now.

“I’m so far back at the moment that to get back in there by Sunday I’m going to have to put together some pretty solid rounds”, he said.
