Hornets center Al Jefferson out six weeks
The Clippers used their reserves to put the pressure on the Hornets in the fourth quarter, giving the starters more than enough rest and a lead for them to hold onto when they re-entered the game.

“I thought our bench was phenomenal tonight”. His off-the-ball movement creates space for shots, and if he’s hitting them, it spaces the floor for everyone else. The Clippers were coming off a 108-91 win at Washington on Monday. “When you’re missing somebody as big as Blake is for us, we’re just trying to make do and stay afloat until he gets back”.
Jefferson, 30, was also forced to sit out five games for violating the league’s anti-drug program this year and missed 11 games between December 2 and December 23 due to injuries and the suspension.
It was revealed earlier in the evening that Jefferson would undergo arthroscopic surgery to address a tear in the lateral meniscus of his right knee. The 6-foot-10 Jefferson is averaging 12.5 points and 6.1 rebounds in 19 games this season. Frank Kaminsky notched 20 points and four rebounds off the bench. Lamb and Nicolas Batum added 19 apiece, and Cody Zeller scored 12.
They opened a 13-3 lead in the first quarter, putting the Hornets on their heels right away. Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer said the Hornets expect to receive Jefferson’s MRI results Wednesday night. “Really, the tone was set”. However, defence was the problem for the Hornets, who allowed the visitors to shoot 37 of 71 from the field (52.1 percent shooting) and 15 of 30 from the three-point area.

Since joining the Clippers, Chris Paul hasn’t lost a game in Charlotte, winning all four times he’s played. Guard Kemba Walker led the Hornets with 29 points.
