Jaguars owner Khan: Coach Bradley will return next season
The Jaguars owner released a statement Tuesday afternoon regarding his head coach’s future with the team.

Gus Bradley gets it. Absolutely.
Had Khan chose to pull the plug on the Bradley tenure, he would be perfectly justified.
The Jaguars (5-10) have lost four of five heading into their season finale Sunday at Houston (8-7). The Bucs won a division title in McKay’s fourth year. “I think there’s some things that both Shad and (general manager) Dave (Caldwell) appreciate: the culture, the process, the progress that’s taken place”. I’m not totally convinced it’s the right move, but on some levels, it makes flawless sense.
Khan says he expects the team to respond favorably to the news that Bradley will stay on as head coach in 2016.
The Jaguars offense has improved rapidly this year, from last in points per game to a tie for 10th. Bortles represents the single most important hope – and the primary reason season-ticket holders would renew for 2016 – for this franchise to start winning again. And so far, he’s going to keep the heat on Bradley by not extending his contract, which expires after next season.
“He’s been great”, Bradley said of the billionaire owner. Bradley will also get 2015 No. 3 overall pick Dante Fowler in the fold for the first time in 2016. Plus, while the Jaguars were keeping their coach, the Philadelphia Eagles fired Chip Kelly after three seasons with a 26-21 record and a division title on his resume.
Bradley handled most of his job status-related questions in stride. The Jaguars have gotten better and more competitive this year as their offense is good, but their defense is a problem.
Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles, speaking after practice Wednesday, echoed the thoughts of many of his teammates in saying he was happy that Bradley will return.

Bob Babich is on the bubble. Speculation has been the Jaguars could rest players to avoid injury because the team has been eliminated from the postseason. They should be absolutely livid if serious changes aren’t forthcoming on defense. He is 12-35 in three seasons as the Jaguars coach, according to the Associated Press. Khan is showing remarkable patience with Bradley, and he’s gambling that his loyalty will have a quick payoff.
