Modi’s visit to Pakistan a good development, says Sartaj Aziz
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said it is “high time” India and Pakistan set aside their hostilities even as he expressed confidence that the spirit of goodwill generated by his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi’s visit to Lahore will persist.

The PM said in case both sides played a positive part, the process of negotiations would not derail.
Mr. Modi’s stopover marked the first time in 11 years that an Indian prime minister has stepped foot in Pakistan. “Nawaz Sahab’s birthday & granddaughter’s marriage made it a double celebration”, Prime Minister Modi tweeted after landing in Delhi.
President of the United States Barack Obama has invited the leaders of two neighbouring nuclear-powers to attend the Nuclear Security Summit, starting from March 31 the next year.
The Prime Minister said “goodwill gestures were solution to many an ill”.
According to the Dawn, Sharif said India and Pakistan need to resolve all issues in a comprehensive way.
Narendra Modi’s surprise Christmas Day visit to Pakistan stunned the world.
Though there was no official announcement to this effect, reports said said that Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar will travel to Islamabad to hold talks with Sartaj Aziz, the Pakistani Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs.

Sharif, received PM Modi at the airport on 25th December with a hug and then flew him to his home near Lahore, where the two leaders held talks for over an hour.
