Israel says new eastern West Bank settlement plans invalid
There has been growing confrontation between Israelis and Palestinians over the past months.

“In this connection we reaffirm the need for refraining from any unilateral steps that might further complicate Palestinian-Israeli relations and put a question mark over the principle of double-state settlement of the Palestinian problem, approved by the worldwide community, including Israel”, the Foreign Ministry said.
“[An] Israeli settlement in E1 will cut the West Bank in half and prevent territorial contiguity of a future Palestinian state”, the report adds.
Some of the Palestinian victims died during clashes with Israeli security forces, while others were gunned down by Israeli security forces and vigilante citizens while allegedly trying to carry out attacks.
Israel has returned the bodies of three more Palestinians killed while carrying out attacks on Israeli targets, the Palestinian news agency Maan reported Tuesday. “There is no need to pay worldwide prices for a process that does not have great significance”, a statement from the prime minister’s office said. The assailant was overpowered by a security guard and arrested, police said.
Critics say the legislation is discriminatory because it is mainly groups that oppose the right-wing government’s policies towards Palestinians which receive money from foreign governments and the European Union. But many Israeli leaders have portrayed them as traitors, in part because their reports and lectures are often aimed at foreign audiences.
In the latest fatal incident, the Israeli military said two Palestinians stabbed a soldier in the village of Hewara, near the West Bank city of Nablus. The global community, including the US, rejects settlements as illegal or illegitimate, saying they undermine the goal of establishing a Palestinian state living in peace next to Israel.
“Beyond the fact that this is a bill that ostensibly seeks to increase transparency, it seeks to label human beings”, she reportedly said Sunday.
