Standout TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin was arrested Thursday morning after a San Antonio bar fight during which police say Boykin struck an officer.
Boykin and the people with him were removed from the bar, but the fight continued, according to reports.
The report says bar employees were ‘attempting to remove a patron from the bar, the male was fighting with the employees as they moved onto the sidewalk’. An errant punch from Boykin, reportedly, missed its intended target and struck a bar employee.
San Antonio bicycle patrol officers arrived shortly after and, along with bar bouncers, tried to break up the fight.
Police said that’s when Boykin became aggressive, and indiscriminately hit an officer.
After officers threatened to use a stun gun on Boykin, he was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and public intoxication, according to reports.
At that point, police say, bike officers arrived and came upon Boykin as he was taking swings.
TCU released a statement, stating that the school is “aware of a situation last night” and “gathering information”.
