Manuel Pellegrini confirms Vincent Kompany out for 3-4 weeks
City, three points behind leaders Arsenal and Leicester City at the halfway stage of the season, will be without injured captain Vincent Kompany for at least a month while Samir Nasri is also on the absentee list.

Prior to Tuesday’s scoreless draw against Leicester City at King Power Stadium, the team hadn’t been able to keep a single clean sheet without him.
“Vincent has an injury, a second degree tear of the calf”.
“I don’t think that less than three or four weeks”.
Manchester City have proven that they are a much better side with Vincent Kompany in the lineup than without him.
The Argentine made just his second appearance since returning to the side during Tuesday’s goalless draw with Leicester City, but was unable to make a difference in the top-of-the-table clash. But Pellegrini has backed his top scorer to come good. “Then we can see more who are the teams involved in the fight”.
He said: “I said when we lost to Arsenal that we prove a lot”.
City’s defence has looked particularly vulnerable with Kompany absent, with neither Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala providing convincing arguments that they can cope without their captain.
“We hope that he can recover as soon as he can but it s very important until we solve this to defend the way we did in this game”.
The Sky Blues opened this season’s campaign with five successive league wins till mid-September, scoring 11 goals in those games and conceding none. “As always I said that we are not going to close the window but we are not really thinking of any special players to bring in”, added the Chilean. “We have a season and it’s very important to have the amount of points you need to win titles”. I d love this to continue but it s not easy.

“This league is very insane”, Ranieri said, pointing to Leicester’s status. I’d like my players to continue to fight like today.
