Cal quarterback Jared Goff opts for NFL draft

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Lynch will announce that he’s leaving school to declare for the 2016 NFL Draft, in which he’ll be one of the top quarterbacks chosen. He said after the Bears’ 55-36 win over Air Force in the Armed Forces Bowl that he would discuss matters with his parents and have an announcement. The 6-foot-7, 245-pound Lynch is widely regarded as the top quarterback available in the draft after passing for 3,778 yards and 28 touchdowns with just four interceptions for the Tigers this season.

The redshirt junior concluded his college career Wednesday with a 31-10 loss to Auburn in the Birmingham Bowl. However, his elite size and body of work from this season should have him in the conversation to be the first quarterback taken in April’s draft.

Goff finished his junior season completing 64.5 percent of his passes for 4,719 yards, 43 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
