The Force Won’t Be Awakening In ‘Star Wars Battlefront’
Disney and Lucasfilm’s much anticipated sequel “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has been breaking daily box office records since it premiered on December 18, but the return of Princess Leia and Han Solo hasn’t rescued movie theater stocks from the dark side.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is nothing but a popcorn movie, but it’s a good one.
Of course, this is all just speculation for now, but it’s certainly an interesting idea to ponder.
“The Force Awakens” is an American epic space opera film. It brought in a galactic $238 million in North America over its opening weekend, besting previous record-setter “Jurassic World”, and set global opening-weekend records in Australia, New Zealand and throughout Europe.
Another reason behind the massive achievement of the new star wars movie is fans repeatedly going to cinemas to watch a second time. The current record holder is Jurassic World (13 days), which had the benefit of opening day and date in China. An incredible box office performance that would be, yet it would still fall about $350 million short of Jurassic World’s worldwide gross.
“You nearly have to rewrite all the record books for this movie”, box office analyst Paul Dergarabedian of Rentrak said.
Very simply, EA’s response, when asked by said user was “Our team is focusing on the original trilogy for this release of “Star Wars Battlefront”.
Among the new releases, the most notable is the family comedy Daddy’s Home. “Despite the prerelease hype, it won’t save the world, not even Hollywood, but it seamlessly balances cozy favorites _ Harrison Ford, ladies and gentlemen _ and new kinetic wows along with some of the niceties that went missing as the series grew into a phenomenon, most crucially a scale and a sensibility that is rooted in the human”.
Though a fantastic number yesterday for Force Awakens, it’s not a record, rather the fifth best Wednesday of all-time.

The Good Dinosaur made $9.2 million in 3rd. And Quentin Tarantino’s latest film, “The Hateful Eight”, debuted in 10th place with $4.5 million.
