Manchester United should stick by Van Gaal, says Moyes
“We have fulfilled the wish and our aim in the first season that ended halfway through 2015”, the Dutchman said at a news conference.

The Red Devils have been heavily criticised for their rigid possession-based play, but were more positive during the draw against the Blues.
And Van Gaal revealed he is seeing signs the team are on the right track again and brushed aside talk of the pressure he is facing, though he hinted again the United position could be the last one he will hold. In this football world you never know, but I’m fully confident in the board and my players. “I think he’ll go on to be a midfield player, he’ll play again, but at the moment he’s still such a good goal scorer you don’t want to give that up just yet”.
David Moyes thinks Manchester United should stand by Louis van Gaal and claims the club would be setting a unsafe precedent if they sacked the Dutchman.
“The way we’ve played this season, we’re more or less always the dominant team”.
“I was three times lost against Swansea, and then you have to evaluate why you lost”.
“We’ve had many games like that”, Van Gaal conceded.
Such a strategy also allows them time to think and time to find out whether someone like Pep Guardiola can be persuaded to take on the task of fuelling a giant corporate undertaking with results.
The club’s fans have been growing increasingly restless with the lack of goals and wins but Van Gaal insists he is delighted with the support he has had during this hard period.
The England global conceded that the club needs a win sooner rather than later in order to get out of their current slump, but believes that the performance against Chelsea will give the players a boost in confidence knowing that they can dominate a game. You have to show it for 90 minutes against the resistance of the opponent and also under the pressure of the environment and the pressure you put yourself under.
Van Gaal’s job came under scrutiny following his side’s fourth consecutive defeat at the hands of Stoke City. “That is of course much more hard when you don’t win than when you win”.
“You have to cope with that”.

Yet the manager knows he has to start winning matches immediately and hopes to start doing so by beating the Swans, who have defeated United in each of the three times Van Gaal’s side have faced them. Then you can be committed and try to perform it.
