A 34-year-old Calgary man faces a number of charges after allegedly causing a disturbance on a flight from Calgary to Toronto early Thursday morning.
Initial reports suggest there may be injuries on board due to turbulence.
Jaskaran Sidhu, who lives in Alberta, was arrested by the police upon the flight’s landing here at the Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
Greater Toronto Airport Authority spokesperson Siobahn Desroches said Air Canada flight AC070 left Pearson at 8:57 pm local time, and the incident occurred approximately three hours in the flight, when it was over the Atlantic Ocean. “Everyone stayed calm”, a passenger told CNN News.
The flight attendant was not injured. “They took a U-turn and we came back here”. Flight AC6006 was then rescheduled to take off later.
