United unlucky not to beat Chelsea, says Rooney
Rooney continued on the situation regarding Van Gaal and the players: “A lot of people say a lot of different things”.

Anthony Martial has been one of United’s best performers after joining in a massive deal last summer.
Chelsea’s players believe Wayne Rooney should have been sent off for his reckless tackle on Oscar in Monday’s goalless draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford. “To have a placid Wayne Rooney is just not the same”, Scholes said.
“I think they need an extra striker”, Gerrard, a former England team mate of Rooney, told BT Sport. “I knew straight away I caught him and I could have caused him a bit of damage. He’s given me a yellow card which I probably deserve”.
United hit the woodwork twice and had two penalty appeals rejected but failed to find the breakthrough against Chelsea. “Obviously we don’t think to that, we look forward and I think with the dynamic we are in now and the games we are playing, soon we will start winning games”, said Courtois.
“We played some great stuff and the crowd were excellent”.
“We’d be letting ourselves down if we didn’t go onto the pitch and play football and give our all”. Who knows? We’ll only see in the future.
After the disappointing defeat at Stoke City on Boxing Day, Monday’s display was much improved and Louis van Gaal’s men will be encouraged ahead of the next encounter, at home to Swansea City on Saturday.
“We’re going through a tough time, but we’ve all stuck together, we put up a great fight and should have won”.
“We are getting into a flow and a very good flow to win games”, the Belgian, who effected crucial saves at Old Trafford to ensure a clean sheet, said on the club website.
