With two good defenses, this game has all the makings of a low-scoring affair. Only Boston College allowed fewer yards per game than Alabama and no team allowed fewer rushing yards per game. “I’m sure our guys will be motivated, trying to do the best they can to play the best they can in the game”. Michigan State used upsets and fantastic finishes to reach the playoff.
Of course, nobody will forget that the Spartans were the beneficiaries of one of the craziest finishes in college football history when they beat almost insurmountable odds and defeated rival MI in the final seconds of the game.
Their next touchdown came on another pass, this one a 50-yarder from Coker to Ridley, putting Alabama up 31-0.
