Manchester City, Watford gear up for face-off
Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany faces another month on the sidelines after Manuel Pellegrini confirmed the central defender has suffered a new calf injury setback.

Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear Manchester City do not have any plans to bring in a replacement for the injured Vincent Kompany or any other signings in the January transfer window.
The match was the first time City has kept a clean sheet this season without the Belgian global in the line-up, but he is set to miss a key run of games in which his side will compete in three different competitions.
“I’m not a doctor, but normally a muscle injury less than three or four weeks is very hard in the calf”.
City travel to Watford on Saturday, having not won away from home in the Premier League since September 12 at Crystal Palace – when they scored late on to win 1-0.
“I think the big teams have to stay at a high level, but sometimes it means nobody wants to win the league – it’s very unusual this league”, Ranieri told BT Sport after the City game. We didn’t win against Arsenal but I think we didn’t play a bad game.
After pulling off their remarkable Great Escape under former boss Nigel Pearson, Leicester have marched to the summit of the table under new boss Claudio Ranieri.
Asked if he wanted his squad in bed by midnight tonight, Pellegrini said: “No, not before midnight”.
“Maybe if you reduce the last games that we are playing away, we are not winning”. City got in down the right again before the half-hour mark following good link up play between Sagna and De Bruyne. It is, in Pellegrini’s words, “a good position” going into the second half of the season, but it represents a significantly lower points total than they had accrued at the same stage in previous years.
“We were very solid and defended well against a hard team”.

“I can only say well done to our players and our fans are unbelievable, they support us and they push us”. “I am sure that in the second round we are going to be involved till the end for the fight for the title”.
