The seventh annual Polar Bear Dip and Chili Cook-Off is hosted by the Crystal Beach Business Improvement Association and the Bertie Boating Club.
POTTSTOWN Preparations are underway for Pottstown’s most daring swim of the year.
Starting in Peachland, the start of a new year will be celebrated with a splash into Okanagan Lake.
Over the past few years the event has raised closed to $5,000. The Funniest Chicken will be awarded to a participant in costume who chooses not to jump in the water.
Event organizer Wayne Holliday said the recent heavy rains have left the water muddy and full of trash. But once you exit the water, have loose fitting dry clothing, boots, and hand and foot warmers at the ready.
It is hoped that spectators will drop a loonie or tonnie (or any donation) into one of the pails provided for a good community cause.
The annual Polar Bear Plunge will begin at noon.

This year there are however new goals for the dip.
