Pellegrini seeking a cure for captain Kompany
“I don’t think it is a good idea to divide up the games into away and home”.

City face a packed five-week period starting with a visit to Premier League leaders Leicester on Tuesday and containing semi-final matches against Everton in the Capital One Cup as well as two rounds of the FA Cup.
“We are trying to understand why he has so many injuries to his calf”, said Pellegrini after the 4-1 win over Sunderland.
“We showed good shape, we defended well and closed the space well, but we need to improve when we want to go straight away and score the goal”.
City kept their first clean sheet of the season without Kompany in their 0-0 draw with Leicester at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday, with Pellegrini confirming the news in his post-match press conference.
“It’s not the same injury, the same calf but in a different part”.
Pellegrini was accurate when suggesting they could have had eight.
The manager said: “This team is better with Vincent than without him”. I did not want him to play the whole game because we have to play so many games, but he worked the whole week with normality.
– Manchester City are on a five game winless run away from home in the Premier League (D2 L3); their worst away run in the competition since April 2011 (six away games without a win).
“We can not think that all the [defensive] mistakes are just because Vincent isn’t playing”.
“He is very important because first of all he is the captain”, said Pellegrini.
In Kompany’s absence, Pellegrini has fielded a central defensive partnership worth more than £60 m, but Nicolás Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala have often looked vulnerable, and the partnership has yet to keep a clean sheet for City.
He would now be looking to buy centre-halves and he would probably be shopping overseas. “That depends on the performances of Mangala, Otamendi and Demichelís”.
Sam Allardyce is anxious about Sunderland after they conceded 3 goals in nine minutes to Manchester City in their 4-1 loss.
One man proving his worth is Kevin De Bruyne with 10 goals and 10 assists since his record £54million (Dh296m) arrival.
Raheem Sterling opened the scoring after just 12 minutes before Yaya Toure and Wilfried Bony added two more in quick succession.
A sublime backheel nearly set up a fourth for David Silva soon after half-time, before De Bruyne slotted in the goal his performance deserved. I’d just made a change and was told Vincent needs to be substituted.
“Personally for him it is very tough. I can only say well done to our players and our fans are unbelievable, they support us and they push us”.
“We play Bournemouth, Tottenham twice, Stoke, but we are ready to fight”. “They have got to release themselves from the fear they are showing”.
The defeat was Sunderland’s third in succession and left them adrift in the relegation zone.
Pellegrini said: “We were anxious”.
“I don’t think in December you can say who will be in the frame to win the title”.

We need to work hard, try to climb the table. “If we win, it doesn’t matter about other clubs”.
