Obama to Discuss Executive Action on Guns With Attorney General Lynch
Obama is also scheduled to meet with U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch Monday, where he said they are expected to discuss what options are available despite congressional action.

He said: “I get too many letters from parents, and teachers, and kids, to sit around and do nothing”.
A White House spokesman said Obama knows Congress is unlikely to take legislative action to reform gun laws as he has demanded.
In the radio address, Obama said he was moving unilaterally because Congress had failed to address the growing problem of gun violence.
“I think we will have a strong Democratic nominee”, Obama said.
Sources familiar with the policy discussion told CNN Obama would likely tighten up requirements for gun sellers to perform background checks on purchasers.
For firearms sold online or at gun shows, the background checks aren’t performed. Factors would include volume and speed of sales, and whether or not the seller relies on advertising to sell guns.
While the National Rifle Association, which as fought hard against Obama’s gun control efforts, now has no comment, NRA spokeswoman Jennifer Baker was previously quoted as saying, “The fact is, the President’s gun control agenda will only make it harder for law-abiding citizens to exercise their right to self-defense”.
Nor would the two have prevented the high profile shootings at the Aurora movie theater, the DC Navy Yard, the Lafayette Grand Theatre, Umpqua Community College, Colorado Springs on Halloween, or the San Bernardino terror attack.
“My New Year’s resolution is to move forward on our unfinished business as much as I can”, he said.
“Since then, tens of thousands of our fellow Americans have been mowed down by gun violence”.
The White House is not sharing the exact timing or content of the President’s executive order. “And we are still seeing one mass shooter after another passing background checks and LEGALLY stockpiling guns despite obvious red flags in their background indicating [a] history of violence”.
Multiple media reports suggested the changes the president will bring includes expanding background checks and closing a gun show loophole on background checks.

The issue of gun control has polarized the USA legislature and divided the nation, with Americans holding radically different views on the pros and cons of gun ownership.
