The Horned Frogs must now choose between senior Braum Kohlhausen or redshirt freshman Foster Sawyer to start against or (9-3) in the Alamo Bowl on Saturday. Boykin snuck back out with a group of teammates and went to Pat O’Brien’s, which is just three blocks from TCU’s hotel. “There’s nothing I wanted to do more than play one last game with my fellow seniors”.
One fan said Boykin should have gotten a second chance, “I think they should let him play”.
Boykin was allegedly involved in an altercation at Pat O’Brien’s, a bar in San Antonio. Boykin, according to the report, swung at the customers but hit a bar employee instead. Police Chief William McManus said it was not clear whether Boykin was swinging at the officer or someone else.
“Clearly this was not an appropriate way to act”, McManus said of Boykin. He came back. He was finally subdued after being threated with a (stun gun).
Boykin was taken to the Bexar County Jail; he has now been released on a bond.
Edwards, who is in Orlando, Fla., for Saturday’s Under Armour All-America Game, used TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin’s current situation as an important lesson for some of the top high school recruits in the nation. After walking away, the suspect – bystanders told police it was Boykin – charged officers. “I’m hurting from it. I won’t lie. He’s a good person”, TCU running back Aaron Green said.
I sincerely thank TCU for everything it has provided me, including an opportunity to earn my degree which I will always cherish. I hope others can learn from my mistake. He said the quarterback still has the support of his teammates.
Boykin’s behavior headlines a group of football players who have faced disciplinary action during college football’s busiest bowl week. He was expected to be fully healthy for the Alamo Bowl.
