NHL Winter Classic: 5 storylines from Canadiens-Bruins outdoor game
So far this season, Marchand has been the Bruins leading scorer with 26 points (15 goals and 11 assists in 34 games). Needless to say, Montreal fans have to be pretty happy with how the New Year’s Day event started for their team.

The 25-year-old Condon, raised in nearby Holliston, made 27 saves to help Montreal win the latest installment in the storied rivalry between the two “Original Six” franchises.

Nat King Cole’s Daughter Natalie Cole Dies
Although she was still touring up until her death, her last album release was in 2013 with ” Natalie Cole en Español”. Natalie would capitalize on her father’s velvet tone later in her career with a massive-selling “duet” album.

Unlike their two most recent meetings, Friday’s convincing 5-1 victory by Montreal over the hometown Boston Bruins was never in doubt.

No plea bargain for ‘not guilty’ Cosby
Cosby allegedly drugged Constand before penetrating her with his fingers. “On behalf of our client we are happy to see that Mr. Cosby will hopefully be brought to justice and the criminal court system”, said her lawyer, Spencer Kuvin, in a statement.

Eyewitness News spoke with several fans who said they are rooting for the Bruins during the big game on New Year’s Day.

According to Sportsnet Stats, Byron became just the fourth player in Winter Classic history to score multiple goals in a single game.

If there was any doubt that Brendan Gallagher is a key player for the Canadiens, it was erased Friday afternoon as the feisty winger returned to the lineup after missing 17 games with two broken fingers. The game started off fast as David Desharnais got a quick goal past Tuukka Rast off of a face off 1:14 into the first period.

Most notably Mike Condon and Jimmy Hayes. But didn’t hockey start out on winter ponds-just man and the elements? Instead, they fell flat, playing an embarrassing game that may linger for some time. I think it just seemed like it was one of those nights we couldn’t get anything going the first period. “We weren’t first on pucks. You’ve got to be ready, and I think we didn’t show up when we needed to show up [and] it showed”. With the effort the Bruins put forth, the Habs could have played this game with their helmets on backwards and still won going away.

It was Gallagher who gave Montreal their biggest boost, and one can’t help but notice the contrast: Gallagher, Montreal’s talented pest, returns, while Brad Marchand, the Bruins’ talented pest, sits. I think everyone did that.

Adam Mcquaid ended the first period in the penalty box after getting a delay of game penalty.

“There is nearly an insatiable appetite for these games”, Bettman said. Montreal held a lot of the possession in the first period outshooting the Bruins by a wide margin. He described himself as “pretty good” adding, ‘I’m all right now whenever I go back and play with my friends back home, but I used to play with all the top dogs growing up back in Buffalo.

“Just to try to remember this feeling and it’s certainly a special one”, he said.

“I guess bottom line is it’s a two-point game”, Bergeron said.

And that’s not what the Bruins, with yet another chance to jump into first place gone, want to hear. We’re trying out there and sometimes, you just don’t have it. Today, we get scored on a couple of times in front of the net.
