In a released statement, TCU senior QB Trevone Boykin apologized for the Thursday morning bar fight that ended in his arrest.

The quarterback was arrested in San Antonio on charges of striking a police officer outside a bar during an early-morning altercation.
“It’s never good to get in trouble the day before the game but that’s the way it is I guess”, one TCU fan lamented.
Boykin left the Bexar County jail on Thursday with a coat over his head before ducking into a vehicle. Boykin was accused of indiscriminately hitting a patrol officer around 1:52 a.m Thursday morning.
Police said he continued to fight off officers even after he was taken to the ground, and only stopped swinging after an officer threatened to use a Taser on him.
Trevone Boykin issued an apology through his official Twitter account following his arrest in San Antonio and suspension from Saturday’s TCU appearance in the Valero Alamo Bowl. TCU wide receiver Preston Miller was also suspended for bowl game for what coach Gary Patterson said was an unspecified violation of team rules. I will forever be a proud TCU Horned Frog, and I apologize to everyone again for my lapse in judgment.
According to a police report, Boykin had been fighting with employees at the bar, but people with the star quarterback told officers they would take him back to his hotel.
“I hope others can learn from my mistake”, he wrote.
Boykin finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting as a junior in 2014 and went into this season considered one of the front-runners for the award.
TCU plays OR on Saturday in the Alamo Bowl. Adams, the graduate transfer, has completed 155 of 240 passes (65 percent) for 2,456 yards with 25 touchdowns and six interceptions in his only season for the Ducks.
Quarterback Bram Kohlhausen will likely get the start for the Horned Frogs.
