Alan Pardew has told Patrick Bamford he needs to toughen up to make it in the Premier League.

And Wednesday are thought to be big admirers of England Under-21 worldwide Bamford, who cut short his season-long loan deal at Crystal Palace and returned to Stamford Bridge last Monday.
“The reason I am talking to them about a new contract here is because I feel we could go forward, ” Pardew said.
“Maybe we do need something to keep us where we are in the league but we’re in a great situation at the moment”.
“He was a little bit emotional after the game and maybe he said some things that he regrets a little bit”.
“This was a learning curve for him”.
“I want to thank the chairman (Steve Parish) as I couldn’t have been at a nicer club, I’m just disappointed I couldn’t do more for the team but wish them all the best for the second half of the season and thank the fans for their unbelievable support every weekend”.
“I think it’s a sensible decision by him not to stay at Palace for the rest of the season doing what he’s doing”, Pearce told talkSPORT.
It’s good to see investors finally seeing a bright future for the club; remember it was only five years ago that Palace were in administration, fighting extinction and battling relegation from the Championship. Will he get that at Chelsea?
“Chelsea look like they have gone into a controlled phase of making sure they are stable in the league and will probably attack the cups”, he said. A few injuries to key players such as Yannick Bolasie, Bakary Sako and Connor Wickham will really test the character in the dressing room and the depth of the squad.
“They looked a bit more assured against Manchester United, so they are favourites for this game”.

However, he didn’t want to say much in regards to Chelsea’s Loic Remy as a possible target, a player also linked with Aston Villa.
