Trevone Boykin: ‘No excuses for my very poor decision’

The Horned Frogs were already expected to miss top wide receiver Josh Doctson after he suffered an arm injury against Oklahoma State and sat out TCU’s last two games of the regular season. Boykin was involved in a fight at a bar and then allegedly struck a bicycle patrol officer early Thursday morning in San Antonio. Boykin was charged with felony assault and has been suspended for Saturday’s Alamo Bowl against Oregon. He posted a $5,000 bond and was released from custody late Thursday morning. “Clearly, this was not an appropriate way to act”, McManus said of Boykin’s behavior.
The report said that the fight began when patrons recognized the star quarterback player and exchanged words.
OR and TCU came into the season with high expectations, with spots in the College Football Playoff seemingly realistic goals.
“We are disappointed in their actions and apologize to the TCU Horned Frogs Nation, Valero Alamo Bowl and city of San Antonio”, the coach said.
“You have to take it. Really, my feelings went out for him and for my team”, He said. Boykin then charged at responding officers and swung at one before he was taken to the ground, authorities said. The official report of the incident by San Antonio police says that Boykin was extremely aggressive and had to be held back by teammates. He finished 10th in the voting for the Heisman Trophy after finishing fourth in 2014. Adams, the graduate transfer, has completed 155 of 240 passes (65 percent) for 2,456 yards with 25 touchdowns and six interceptions in his only season for the Ducks. “For me, it doesn’t make a difference which guy starts”, he said.
He sat out against Oklahoma game but returned for the TCU’s regular-season finale, an overtime victory over Baylor that was played in heavy rain.

However, the Ducks must not focus on containing TCU’s backup quarterbacks Bram Kohlhausen and Foster Sawyer. The two teams meet on Saturday.
