Born in Alabama, Rogers was a Princeton graduate and Navy veteran before finding fame as an actor.

Rogers had other TV and movie roles, including a turn as San Francisco surgeon Charley Michaels in the TV comedy “House Calls” from 1979 to 1982.

Following his discharge, Rogers studied at Sanford Meisner’s Neighborhood Playhouse and with dancer Martha Graham and worked as a waiter and lifeguard.

He also was a financial commentator for Fox News Channel.

After M.A.S.H., Rogers became a successful businessman – founding an investment strategy firm and a production company. His last film credit was 2003’s Nobody Knows Anything!-a comedy about Hollywood. He is survived by his wife Amy, children Bill and Laura, and four grandchildren.
