Nadal sets up Raonic final
But was unfazed and broke again, this time sealing his victory with a service victor.

Standing in his way will be the big-serving, evolving Milos Raonic.
Raonic is through after dumping Switzerland’s Stan Wawrinka 7-5, 7-5 to advance. I feel that I worked well enough, I finished the 2015 season with good feelings and I just keep practising with these positive feelings.
“Rafa’s the kind of the guy who plays matches and he played a lot at the end of the year and he’s got those matches behind and he’s obviously going to feel comfortable, he’s going to find answers”.
And his Friday win was a good early obstacle to overcome: the win did not come easy at all, but come it did in front of a cheery and sizeable New Year’s Day crowd at the Zayed Sports City.
The Canadian’s victory over Wawrinka set up a meeting with Rafael Nadal in Sunday’s final.
“It was a great match”, said Nadal. In fact, it is probably impressive that Nadal has managed to retain his No. 5 ranking despite a less-than-ideal 2015 season – a fact he acknowledged himself. “The first match of the season and the rhythm and intensity of the game was like after six months of the season”.
“I thought we both played a great match, and I think both of us were happy with the way that we played”.
He told reporters, “I had the chance to enjoy it. I’m happy for everything”. I’m excited to start another new season. He proceeded to lose 12 of the next 17 games, to be knocked out in an hour and a half. It will be his first final here since January 2011. “I’m happy with the way things are progressing, I’m hoping to play better tomorrow and that’s really all I can ask of myself”. It is great to be back in the finals.

Canada’s Milos Raonic, who joins the stellar player line-up for the first time, was also in action on the clinic courts, hosting winners from the adult category where they picked up some expert tips before going on to battle it out in a Mubadala Community Cup inter-emirate play-off.
