Stanford Cardinal vs Iowa Hawkeyes Football Game Today TV 2015
A night after Michigan State was throttled in the Cotton Bowl, it was Iowa’s turn to take a bowl-game beating, giving up five first-half touchdowns and falling to Stanford, 45-16, in the Rose Bowl. It is, after all, the Granddaddy of Them All. He finished the game with 368 yards.

Iowa went three-and-out on three of its first four drives. This is their first trip to Pasadena since 1991 and they will look to win their first Rose Bowl since 1959.
The sophomore showed his electric talent throughout this game on the big stage. The O-line, which shuffled starters because of injury, according to head coach Kirk Ferentz, never found footing. A win would also move Ferentz ahead of UMass’s Mark Whipple for the 20th-most wins amongst all active FBS coaches.
He also become the first player in Rose Bowl history to post at least 100 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving. “So, I think it ends up being an exciting type of football for me to watch, because it is blocking and tackling”, Podolack says.
It was over when: Before fans had settled into their seats, Stanford had a 7-0 lead after scoring on a 75-yard TD pass on the first play of the game. Less than a minute into the second quarter, he put the Cardinal up 28-0 with a punt return. A three-point loss simultaneously ended their flawless season and bumped them just outside the College Football Playoff with Michigan State taking their place, and subsequently getting blasted by Alabama.
“We don’t try to make statements, we want to play good football”, Shaw said. “He’s just a great player”. “You’d better be able to wrap him up, and we’ve got to do a better job of that”.
He say his one big concern is the return game of Stanford.
The Hawkeyes struggled to run the ball, as well, totaling only 48 yards on 38 carries, despite a reliable group attack that paced the offense for much of the year. The exception came when quarterback C.J. Beathard was intercepted by Stanford cornerback Quenton Meeks, who returned it 66 yards for a touchdown that made it 21-0. “And Stanford played a good defensive game obviously, and we didn’t get anything going until the end there”.
But, the big takeaway from the game is what McCaffrey can do for an encore in his junior season next year and if it will be enough to win the Heisman and take Stanford to the College Football Playoff. In a game that will feature Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey, who finished second in the Heisman voting, it will be hard to keep the Cardinal from racking up yards, but the 21st-ranked defense in the nation is capable of slowing down McCaffrey and company. Iowa has now lost its last four Rose Bowls, last winning after the 1958 season.
Looking at the standings, Iowa are sixth with an impressive 12-1 record and they face fifth-placed Stanford who have an 11-2 pip at the moment. “We understand that we didn’t play at all the way we’re capable of this game so it’s tough to beat a team like that”. If Team A has a better record than Team B, but played a much weaker schedule, Team B has traditionally been the more profitable team in the long run.

Stanford quarterback Kevin Hogan was sharp and confident in his final career start, completing 12 of 21 passes for 223 yards and three touchdowns.
