The Force Awakens has been widely acclaimed by critics for evoking the spirit of adventure established by George Lucas’ original trilogy of films.
The huge success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens won’t necessarily translate over to Star Wars: Battlefront for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The Force Awakens made nearly $40 million around the world on Wednesday, closing with $400.4 million that day.
For all that we all wanted to be surprised, Star Wars fans watched those first few Force Awakens trailers over and over again, to the point that we all noticed certain shots that didn’t make it into the film.

While we’d certainly be surprised to see Disney wait those 16 years until 2035 for Star Wars: Episode X, we’d also be surprised if they moved so quickly into a new trilogy of movies so quickly after the end of Star Wars: Episode 9.
In a rare move, the Broadcast Film Critics Association has voted to add “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” to its lineup for Best Picture at the Critics Choice’ Awards, bringing the total number of nominees from 10 to 11. This joint project by Disney and Lucasfilm is now showing in cinemas.
However, the director said it wasn’t an attempt to misdirect the millions of devout fans who scoured every second of the trailers for clues about the storylines and the new characters. The first couple of times can be forgiven, but they continue to stack up at the movie goes on, becoming an increasing distraction. “Episode VIII” is scheduled to hit theaters on May 26, 2017. To those who would much rather have a more original minded writer/director push towards new directions, Johnson – who built an innovative reputation with Brick, The Brothers Bloom and especially Looper – may be this trilogy’s only hope.

Ah, well, there’s always “Episode VIII”. Electronic Arts has already confirmed Battlefield 5 will arrive in fall 2016, which means Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will not arrive until 2016 at the soonest.
