Charles Woodson gives great pregame speech before Chargers-Raiders
Oakland Raiders’ Charles Woodson (24) celebrates their 23-20 win against the San Diego Chargers in overtime of their National Football League game at O.co Coliseum in Oakland, Calif., on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015. He’s a great Raiders. “We’ve got to find a way to get this game won”.

But because of a couple of big turnaround plays in the fourth quarter and a nice drive to start overtime, the Raiders came away with a 23-20 victory over San Diego to sweep their AFC rivals in a season for the first time since 2010. His season and his 18-year career are nearly over as well, so the Raiders sent him off in a heroic fashion during his last home game.
The game was played on the 38th anniversary of the Raiders’ famed “Ghost to the Post” double-overtime playoff win against the Colts in Baltimore. Instead, Woodson tucked the ball and took a three-yard loss.
The defense delivered throughout another night in which the Raiders offense struggled. But after they failed to advance, a television replay appeal wiping out a touchdown catch, Lambo missed a 48-yard field goal try and San Diego lost a chance to boost the lead. Malcolm Smith forced a fumble on a catch by David Johnson, and Benson Mayowa returned it 41 yards to the 3. Crabtree has been making extremely few plays the past six weeks.
Lambo equalized on a 45-yard field goal with 55 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
While Woodson’s future is determined, the team’s remains in flux.
Philip Rivers has figured out ways to make this offense effective without his best weapons and if they want to win this week, he’s going to have to do exactly that. The pro-Oakland signs were barely visible, and there were no chants blasting ownership or pleading for the team to stay such as the ones that rang out during the home finales in San Diego and St. Louis.
He made it 40 yards before being dragged down at the 3-yard line, setting up a go-ahead touchdown pass to Crabtree.
Leading 17-12 after a Raiders safety, the Chargers wanted a pass interference flag against Ben Heeney on an incomplete pass to Danny Woodhead on third down.

The move back also wasn’t very successful off the field as the city of Oakland and Alameda County were left holding the bag after personal seat licenses failed to cover the cost of the $220 million renovation that added more than 10,000 seats and luxury boxes in what was called Mount Davis. Fantasy owners were likely expecting a little more production from the Raiders passing attack Thursday, but Amari Cooper was limited for much of the contest by a nagging foot injury.
